Artwork by Sim Kah Lim, Watercolour on Paper.
71.5 x 48.5 cm
Rows of river lighters sit closely together, their curved wooden forms glowing in warm, golden tones. Once essential for transporting goods between ships and riverside warehouses, these boats represent Singapore’s maritime roots. Sim Kah Lim’s layered detail celebrates the hardworking river community and the vessels that sustained a growing trading port.
