Artwork by Sim Kah Lim, Watercolour on Paper.
71.5 x 48.5 cm
Traditional bumboats occupy the busy river, framed by low riverside buildings and the faint outline of a rising city. Soft washes of colour lend the scene a reflective, almost dreamlike quality. Sim Kah Lim revisits Singapore’s commercial past, inviting viewers to appreciate the everyday vessels and workers behind its development.
